The PurePowerD solution to energy needs on farms, vineyards and ranches seems to be striking chords through California. We were invited to set up our Mobile Solar Power System in a featured viewing spot at the Unified Wine Symposium in Sacramento in January; at the World Ag Expo in Tulare in February. At both events, we spoke to people who simply glowed with the idea of powering their operations with solar.
The American Society for Enology and Viticulture, the organization that hosts the Wine Symposium) says that this year’s attendance of 11,900 was the highest on record. Likewise, the World Ag Expo (the world’s largest annual agricultural event) was simply packed. We had lines of people come to see us at the Ag event, and gave out over 500 brochures a day. Wild.
Concurrent with that show, as we’ve mentioned here earlier, an organic farm in Capay Valley has purchased a 10 kW system, and is currently getting its office and equipment dialed in (they had been on-grid). We’ll have some pictures soon. An interesting side story: a fixed-solar salesperson stopped by to offer friendly advice, including a rooftop system he was happy to part with for $50,000 more than our system.
